When a Japanese client approached us for a shop opening hamper, they had one special request—they wanted the gift to include food instead of the traditional flower stand.
While flower standees are commonly gifted at grand openings in Malaysia as a symbol of prosperity and success, our client preferred something more personal and memorable.
To honour their wishes, we proposed a unique alternative: a counter flower arrangement paired with a Prosperity Lucky Cat (Maneki-neko), a beloved Japanese symbol believed to attract wealth and business success.
To complete the gift, we added 18 Ferrero Rocher chocolates. The choice of 18 wasn't random—it was carefully selected because the recipient was Chinese, and the number 18 is widely associated with prosperity, good fortune & success in Chinese culture.
The result was a grand opening gift that beautifully combined Japanese and Chinese traditions while remaining elegant, meaningful & enjoyable. Instead of simply giving flowers, the recipient received a decorative floral arrangement, a symbol of prosperity, and premium chocolates to share with family, friends, or customers.
At Beehive Chocolate, we believe the most memorable gifts are the ones that tell a story. By understanding both the giver and the recipient, we create customised gift hampers that are thoughtful, culturally meaningful, and leave a lasting impression.
If you're looking for a custom shop opening hamper, grand opening gift, or a personalised corporate gift, we'd be delighted to help you create something truly unique.
